Fusarium wilt,Sterility mosaic disease,Phytophthora blight are the major diseases appearing in Pigeonpea crop. Wilt and sterility mosaic are widely prevalent in NEPZ, CZ and SZ of India while Phytophthora blight is severe in NEPZ only. Alternaria leaf blight is a major problem in pre-rabi pigeonpea grown during September April in North Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. During last two decades a number of resistant varieties have been developed for respective diseases. Chemical control measures and cultural practices have  also been developed to minimize the incidence of these diseases. Available control measures have been integrated to develop sustainable and eco-friendly management of major diseases.
